Citrus pectin is a water-soluble fiber found in the pulpy part of grapefruit, oranges, and other citrus fruits. In a special process, the citrus pectin is "modified" or broken down into particles small enough to be absorbed into the bloodstream.

The Journal of the National Cancer Institute reports the "inhibition of spontaneous metastasis in a rat prostate cancer model by oral administration of modified citrus pectin." Pienta, K.J, et al, J.Natl Cancer Insti 1995 Nar 1:87 (5); 348-53

And from Wayne State University researchers report "inhibition of in vitro tumor cell-endothelial adhesion by modified citrus pectin." Naik, H et al, Proc, Annual Meeting American Association Cancer Researchers; 36: A377 1995
