NEW HELP FOR BONE LOSS
Ipriflavone, an isoflavone from soy, works
like other flavonoids to protect bone

Isoflavones resemble the structure of estrogen and share its effect of slowing bone loss. The isoflavone ipriflavone has been the subject of several studies which suggest that it inhibits bone resorption, thus preventing bone loss associated with the onset of menopause in women. This effect is similar to that of estrogen but with one difference, ipriflavone does not seem to affect the female sex organs in the same way as estrogen does.*

Ipriflavone was the subject of a two year study in postmenopausal women with low vertebral bone density. Those women taking calcium and ipriflavone showed less or no bone loss. Those women not taking the ipriflavone calcium combination showed a marked decrease in bone density.

This natural compound is approved for the treatment of bone loss in Hungary, Italy and Japan.

* Although irpiflavone does not stimulate breast or uterine tissue, certain of its metabolites may synergize the effect of the most potent estrogen, estrodial.

**Ipriflavone may temporarily inhibit certain liver detox pathways and therefore for those women taking prescription medications ipriflavone-drug interactions can occur.
